Here is my build (minus a motherboard) im looking to get. From what ive read, if i go the AMD route I will probably future proof myself a bit more.

Ive not researched AMD and dont know what AM3 socket will be an equilivant or better to the i5 760. Also what motherboard would i got for?

Im looking a SAVE money, the MB i had intended for the i5 would cost me £80.

Ah, no quite so future proof as i first thought then. But still more future proof than intel due to 1156 and 1366.
But still, can i do it cheaper than using i5?

much cheaper with amd, and this spec includes motherboard, gaming keyboard and mouse.

Was the motherboard you were looking at matx or atx and did it have SATA 6 support?

TBH the most future proof is whatever lasts the longest atm as there's not really much in the way of new CPUs coming out for any of the current AMD or Intel boards. For gaming i5/i7 are faster but AMD has the option of changing to a (reasonably priced) hex core chip.

The Phenom 955 is £117 so yeah it is a bit cheaper and there are plenty of cheap AM3 motherboard available with SATA 6 support:

TBH you can't ever "futureproof" yourself as something will come out that leaves your rig behind AM3+ or 1366 are the way to go if you want to have a likely couple of years support!

With sata3 and usb3 around, there are very few 'future proof' motherboards out there and everyone plugging the AMD is more future proof bandwagon needs to wake up and think about what they are saying.

It is quite likely that any processor upgrade that you will make in the future, any that would have significant bearing on performance that is, will require both a processor and motherboard upgrade.
There will be other things on the motherboards you will desire. Sticking in a faster processor keeping mobo ram and sata and usb all the same will not result in great speed boosts in 2-3 years time. It'll just waste £150 on a new processor and make little headway.

Choose AMD now if you want AMD performace, don't rate the motherboard on an unknown and unproven future proof abilities.
