Ok so I have an i7 920 overclocked to 3ghz. I have the original 2:8 memory multipler with my OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 RAM. So currently its running at 1200MHz 7-7-7-20 1.5v and is stable.

The rated speed for the ram is 1600Mhz with 8-8-8-24 timings. If I change the memory multiplier to achieve this (without doing any more CPU overclocking), am I really increasing performance at all? Or is it better to stay at the default multi with tight timings?

if it was me i would clock your cpu some more and get the ram runing at 1600 and 8-8-8-24
