Changing install location of already installed software

Just wondered if this was possible? Cleaning up my computer (it being spring n' all) and found a couple of programs out of place, bit anal i know but i'd like them neatly where they belong if possible

cut and paste the folder to the new location ( you can always put it back to where it came from)
try and run the software and see what happens , if your lucky it will just work
if not you will have to trawl thru the registry and edit some keys

Normally does not work. There must be some software that can edit the reg keys for you though?

A lot of open source stuff can run from folders e.g. pretty much all cross platform python based code, but most stuff - not a chance once the registry entries/paths are written.

Quicker and easier just reinstalling.

You'll make a mess of the registry if you just cut and paste.
