Changing language in X3

I came across a copy of X3 lying around and decided to try it out however it appears its a german copy - box, manual and game. So I installed it anyhow, but it appears there were no other language options despite the installer being in english.

Anyway, went ahead and tried the game but the whole thing seems to be in German
So is it possible to change the game language to english, without having to buy a new copy??
