Changing language/location on Origin store

Hi,

So I just finished Mass Effect (played 2 ages ago) and decided to finally buy 3. Ok it's not on Steam - poo but whatever - have to buy it on Origin then, never mind.

Thing is I'm actually living in Norway, and the clever Origin store has decided I must speak Norwegian (which I don't). There's a language choice at the bottom but only option is Norwegian (why have a frikkin choice then?!).

Could probably get through the checkout with the help of Google translate, but not even sure the game would have English language! I did a quick google and found a thread on EA support suggesting this problem has been around about 5 years and they've done naff all to sort it out. So annoying!

So anyone come across this and know any work around? I guess I could VPN, but don't know any free ones. Would I then even be able to play it later without VPN, or would I find it region locked?

Arrghhhh this is making me rage enough to consider piracy lol! Stupid EA.

Any advice appreciated :)
 
Can you not create your Origin account and then change location and language?
I seem to be able to in my account settings.
 
I got into my account settings after the fun of choosing a security question I didn't understand, and my location and language settings are UK, English, but that has no effect on the store page.

I'm sure I could work through the purchase, but my concern is I end up with the game/menus etc installed in Scandinavian language, which wont be acceptable.

So dumb!!

Edit: Also - can anyone tell me the price for ME3 in the UK store? 18 quid here.

Just redirects.

Used to use a paid VPN when I first came here, and that would probably work, but since then found unblockus for the likes of iPlayer, but that isn't a true VPN so don't help here.

Only Norwegian. I had a read of that thread I found on EA support and everyone only gets one option lol. Especially sucks for multilingual countries like Switzerland apparently as they are stuck with german even if they speak one of the other three languages. Just EA not giving a crap it seems.

I just tried expat shield which is a free but ad supported VPN and it got me to the UK store but kept dropping out and switching to Norwegian. At least I got to see its only 9.99 on the UK store! Double grrrrr

This would never happen on Steam! :)
