Hi,

If anyone with knowledge in this area can help me it'll be very appreciated.

I'm switching motherboards because I've had nothing but problems with mine, looking to get one which'll suit the job well but importantly one that's reputable for not having often problems, as I think I'll go absolutely insane if I encountered the same level of problems this one has given me again!

If anyone can help me pick one for around £100 or less it'll be highly appreciated, my current motherboard and specs are:

Gigabyte X58A-UD3R.

Thanks!

As above - it could well be that another component is causing the problem and you would then be transferring the same problem to a different board - this would still lead to the resulting insanity that you fear.

Of course, ignore the above if your have definitively proved the board is at fault.

Hi,

Been having a lot of problems from day one, some examples:

- Problems booting, keyboards not recognized during boot (it's ok currently since windows autoboots after a certain time frame)

- Memory not being recognized.

- (Not sure if this is to do with the motherboard, but the computer will make a very strange echo noise at time, such as when sound's being played it'll come out as a echo, seems to fix its self after a while or a couple reboots)

- Bluescreens (not very often).

I've been told a while ago it's due to a damaged board, the RAM isn't faulty as all the sticks have been tested individually.

Thanks for the replies!

It certainly could be a MB problem - what's the rest of your entire spec do you have a lot of external USB devices attached etc (PSU model)?

Had a similar issue with my UD3R.

I assume you are using a USB keyboard. There is a setting in the bios that tells the board to recognise a USB keyboard during boot (Integrated Peripherals/USB Keyboard, set to Enabled), then you can press the enter key to skip the 30 second wait. It's not much but it helps! Strange thing is it always allows yo to press delete to enter the bios.

My UD3R regulary fails to restart from sleep, it comes back on but windows gets stuck at the 'wait' screen before reverting to the Log In screen. I think it's a windows thing, I can feel a reload coming.

BTW, if you find an X58 motherboard for under £100 let us all know!

Yeah the keyboard issue I can survive with to be honest, it's the fact it doesn't recognize the third RAM slot that's really doing me because I push 4GB RAM easily, so that 6GB would be very helpful. Also the sound thing is very annoying.

Never had any sleep issues and I use it multiple times daily, defo not an issue specific to the board in general.
