is possible to change settings in IE7 so that when you left click on a link it automatically opens in a tab rather than always going into a new window?

Thanks :)

Like the bottom options here ?

no because thats from programs, i mean links from webpages.

in other words just to save going right click > open in new tab every time.

It says programs but if you had tried it you would see it does what you are asking.

I use it every day like that.

If it is not want you want I then don't have a clue what your asking but it does do what I think your asking. :)

Why not simply Click the link with your middle mouse button to open in a new TAB ?.

Well since I guess you do not have a IE shortcut if its Vista (I do).

1) Go to your Internet Properties with whatever method you know.

2) In main General tab (it will be in this as it opens), look near bottom in TAB's section and select Settings.

It does exactly what you asked about.

So you may need rephrase the question, I did realise very quickly when you could not find the IE Properties that you did not know Windows even basically.

I cannot help much further as it does do what you asked, sorry. :)

Ok, I wouldn't say i don't even have a basic knowledge of Windows, but think what you will, I would have thought such an option would have been within IE7 itself.

What I was asking was is there a way to make hyperlinks which are already in IE, as in from webpages, the ones that usually open a new window, such as when you enlarge an image from a website.

Is there a way to make them open in a new tab without having to right click on them and then pressing open in new tab.

ie. just left clocking and it opens in a new tab by default.

So is there a setting along the lines of, "make all links open in a new tab with left click by default".

Thanks :)

The option is within IE7 itself (every IE from day 1), there is multiple way to get that console up on screen. :)

Its harder to explain TBH.

I left click my links and they open in a new TAB not Window as that's way I set it.

I can also do the same with 1 press of Middle Mouse Wheel/Button.

EXAMPLE: I'm on this page now, I just with 1 click of mouse (Left or Middle button) opened your profile and then again with 1 click downloaded your vCard all with 1 IE Window with multiple TAB's. ;)

If you really cannot get it to work, I advise you download IE PRO.

Change the pop-up options to always open a new tab.

You don't want "all links to open in a new tab" because that would make everything open in a new tab, not just links that spawn new windows.

I can't find this menu option helmutcheese that you talk of, however i wasn't aware of the middle mouse button, that will do for now, thanks :)
