Hey

Can anyone help me upgrading my 4 year old system to something that will run the new black ops or battlefield with ease on full hd ultra or high settings.

- MSI Z97 - G45 gaming Intel Z97 chipset , ATX, SLI crossfire
- Intel Core I7 -4790K quad core Devils canyon , SKT 1150 , was running at 4.8 GHZ
- Asetek 550LC extreme liquid CPU cooler
- Crucial Ballistix sport 16GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24
- two ZOTAC Gforce GTX 770 in sli, 2GB GDDR5
- 750 Watt

Just some main questions, will the motherboard support new DDR4? and support a new graphic card?
Will a 1070 GTI be better then 2 x 770 gtx?
What is compatible and what not...

Don't want to pay too much money, just want to play on a descent pc again :)

What can I keep in my old setup and what has to go?

Much appreciated!!

Kind regards

Ken Neyt

Hello, your motherboard won't support DDR4, but I would probably keep your CPU RAM and motherboard as for the most part they should still do really well for gaming, and I would just upgrade the graphics. a GTX 1070 should perform much better than a pair of 770s in sli, so that would be a good upgrade, though its worth looking at 1070tis and 1080s as well, the prices are a bit all over the place right now, so its possible to grab one for not much more than the 1070 :)

So just changing the graphics card would do the trick?

You wont be able to use ddr4 on that mobo.

A 1070 ti will stomp all over a 2x 770 sli setup.

What is your monitor, i assume it is 1080p given you said full hd, but is it a high refresh rate monitor or are you happy with 60hz?

You've picked 2 quite demanding games.:)

Yes, still 2 four year old 1080 p monitors. .
