Hey

Just got myself a new corsair H100i pro watercooler.
I know there is thermal paste already on there but...
My old watercooler was ASETEK 550LC ExtremeLiquidCPUCooler.
Do i need to clean my CPU before installing my new cooler?

Thanks!

Ken

Lighter fluid is pretty common. Methylated spirits would do ok, don't spill that on things though. White spirit is too oily.

Whatever you use, wipe with a clean napkin/towel after to remove any mineral residues.

Best thing for a wipe off (don't use isopropyl on acrylic though).

Thanks guys, did with some alcohol, and a cloth of some kind for cleaning glasses. Installed and works perfectly. Doesn't get hotter than 50° at 4.2 GHZ .

Cheers
