Changing my folding name?

Hi all

Me and a friend are making a joint account (rather like yewens and nix's)

I need to change my name to the name that my friend has chose to join the accounts, correct?

Also, to change my name, do i just go through the -configonly shortcut and change it there? Will my current WU go to the new joint account?

if you choose to fold under a new name then your old WUs will remain under your old name - you can't get them moved around like you could with seti classic

all you have to do is both set the same name in your clients and all the points will start going to the new account - to change it just stop the service and run the client with the -configonly switch and you'll be laughing :)

it is said that when you downloaded your current WU it will have been coded with the username you were using at the time and as such will still count under your old name, I'm not totally sure about that but at the end of the day you're not really going to delete a part completed WU are ya? :eek: :p
guess there's just one way to find out if the current WU ends up on the new or old name
 
I'm fairly sure WUs are assigned to user IDs, but I'm not sure if your user ID changes when you change your user name?
 
Well my friend doesnt want to fold atm, so i've gone back to my current username for now. No worries :p
 
Lol :p He doesnt want to fold because he's gone to bed, but i assure you i will convert him tomorrow ;)

Had the same problem with a friend recently, he runs a dual core intel server all day and refuses to see the point of folding.
