Hey,

Ive recently being having a problem with my PC running Windows 7 x64. The best way i can explain this is by showing you a Topic about it

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...7-64-bit/85cad5d1-dace-415d-9b06-5c609209e232

Mentioned in this Topic is a way to change my rram to a lower MHz to solve the problem and some people have reported it to be successful. I have never done this before and would like some advice on a safe way to so, if to doit at all

This was a scan i did with Crucial:

Memory: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400

Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Currently Installed Memory: 3GB
Total Memory Slots: 2
Available Memory Slots: 0

Thanks in advance.

Run a Memory Diagnostic Test to make sure your ram is stable.

Restart > Hit F8 > Launch Start Up Repair > Choose Memory Diagnostics > Restart and let windows do the test.

The results will either show up during the test or when you log into windows again.

You should not have to lower your memory speed to make it work properly unless you have overclocked it, especially in a laptop! Never overclock in a laptop!

He hasn't even mentioned using a laptop?

What are the rest of your specs? Also, have you overclocked at all?

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz
Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS
3GB Ram
x2 335GB HDD

Hmmm... sorry about the laptop part, not sure why I put it in, been writing in threads all day, losing my freakin' mind over here...

Erm, to me sounds as though the memory is failing.

Have you tried one stick at a time see if that makes a difference?

No, im not really a hands on person when it comes to computers. The only thing i really know is in the thread i post in my first post a lot of people have being saying its a problem with win7 x64. And they lowered there ram to solve the issue

I ran a Ram Dia before and it came back with no error msgs

I run 1333mhz at 1600mhz overclock with aftermarket heatsinks on them with no problem!

Sounds good :)

Its all a little confusing, a lot of people havin the same problem as me say its not hardware but changing the ram would make it hardware right?

Or could it be windows 7 auto mode on ram has set them wrong?
