Hi all,

I have a Windows XP PC with an old (2001!!) NIC plus a MoBO with a built-in NIC/LAN. I want to set up/swap my internet connection to use the onboard NIC/LAN rather than the old one but don't know how.

Currently the PC is using the old NIC and I am getting a download speed of around 250kbs rather than the 19mbs I should be getting.

Any help/suggestions on how to reconfigure my internet connection to use the faster NIC would be appreciated.

Might sound stupid, but have you just tried moving the cable between the two ports?

Most likely both interfaces are setup to get a DHCP address from your router, so just by moving the cable it the new interface will get an IP address and be used by Windows instead.

That was the first thing I tried and I was surprised when the onboard LAN wouldn't access the internet.
