Virgin just starting putting in fibre optic cables down my street, which has got me all excited! I'm on o2 at the moment and only getting 7mb/s max, so if i change to virgin I'll get 20mb now and 50mb when available regardless of how far I am from the exchange?

Only prob is i recently migrated from BE to o2 as it worked out cheaper... dont suppose I will be able to migrate to virgin as its cable? Bit annoying if not as I'm stuck with a 1yr contract =/

Any advice appreciated! :D

If you're in a 12-month contract, you won't be able to migrate anywhere unless you get released from the contract (usually costs money - often a lot of money).

You could have course run both if you were that desperate.

Running both is your only option aside from waiting really. I'd recommend running both for a little while anyhow, just in case you're in an area where VM is terrible.

I'd be surprised if VM are extending their network into your street, and it's extremely unlikely they're doing it with fibre.

Don't forget you will also have the contract on the BT line to deal with as well as it seems most of VM's good deals are if you are taking out all of their service offerings.
