Hi.
Came home and partner just informed me oven gone. Element i guess is dead.

Out of warranty.

I can get a replacement for £20.

Is it easy enough to change myself. Built in oven. But comes out with a few screws.

Thanks

turn off your electric, like for the whole house so you dont die.

undo the screws to get at the element.

more screws to get the element out probably and there will be a couple of wires.

carefully pull off the wires ( they kinda slip on and off in my experience.

remember what cable went where.

you may have short cables so take care they dont fall back behind the oven or you will have a bad day getting them back ( i blu tack them )

just reverse what you done fitting the new element.

try to get a good element with good reviews, i think the £20 ones are copies but im not sure. You may be able to find original for good price.

put house power back on and test the oven works. If you fussy then get an oven thermometer to test actual temp VS what your knob says.

my oven is 9 degrees hotter than the knob says but i never tested the oven when new so i dont know if the element made a difference or not

if you can change a light bulb then you can likely change an oven element.

I'd check if you can actually access the element before ordering replacement though.
on my oven I just unscrew a panel inside the oven and pull it off then the element is just sitting there behind it with easy access, I think with some you do it from behind the actual oven though
I always went with generic ones on ebay, they usually last 2-3 years

Cheers.
Daft question but I am right in thinking there is only one element in the oven. Not another hidden elsewhere?

Grill still works fine

Oven is ubefmm613

Looking if there is any on Amazon as at least can get next day.

The instructions people have given you is for the grill element I have no idea how to change the one for the oven.
you will need to look up the model number and see if there is a YouTube video or online guide good luck

no people have been talking about oven elements.

should just be one and you need one that will fit your model.

sometimes grills have a hidden one in the floor part of the grill though. depends if your grill heats from the bottom and top or not.

Got a new one today. Pulled oven out. Changed it. Like for like.

Put oven back in. Turned mains power back on. Turned oven back on. Pop! RCD tripped.

Turned RCD back on and oven works fine.

No idea why it tripped out. But seems to be working and getting up to temperature, tried it in 50*c increments
