we're picking up our new car tomorrow (57 reg Kia Sorento XS) and the garage are going to worcester to sort the reg transfer out.

What we're wondering is can we swap the plates over straight away or do we still have to wait a while?

Secondly, will our Sorento still have any manufacturers guarantee left?

I've just done this. Got the car Friday afternoon and transferred my plate Monday afternoon.

IIRC took my V5C, MOT, retention certificate and photocopy of current tax disc to my local DVLA and it was transferred within minutes. I had already paid the £80 transfer fee.

not really. most manufacturers have a 3 year warranty but wasn't until a friend informed me that Kia used to do a 5 year warranty. Hence why it could still be within it.

Yes really, it's called doing your research.

They did a 5-year (unlimited mileage) on the Carens and the Soul IIRC.

The 7-year (100,000 mile) warranty was introduced in 2009.

well my research came back with a 3 year warranty but like i said a friend informed myself of a 5 year warranty that KIA used to do. I asked on here as KIA was closed last night to ask.

A simple answer similar to the one above would have been suffice instead of your patronising replies.
