changing pci slot

hi, ive got gfx cards in slots 1 and 2, i want to change the second card from slot 2 to slot 3 for better cooling....
can i just turn power off, change card to slot 3, power up and everything will work?
or is there some other procedure i should follow?

Yeah should work fine, remember the card in the last PCI-E slot will be running at x8 so it maybe worth doing a comparison with it at x16 and x8, reports show there should not be much drop in performance though.
