Hi,

i am wanting to change from a t-mobile rolling contract to the one plan on three. Normally i would just start a new contract and get a new number but this time i want to keep my number. Do i just have to ring t-mobile and ask for my pac code? Do they provide this straight away? Do i need to wait to get the pac code before i get the new contract from three?

Yes.
Depends, usually yes.
I would suggest you wait to make sure you don't encounter issues although technically it is possible to do it after the start of a contract. Around 10% or so of people have issues doing it post-signup though so I'd really just wait it out.

To minimise overlap of the contracts use the PAC near the end of the 30 days its valid for. I think they are required to provide the PAC within a couple of hours of it being requested although most networks do it either on the phone or pretty much instantly by text.

Thanks both for replies. Not really bothered about contract overlap as i really just want my new phone. Will request PAC code from t-mobile then go into three shop and get new contract / phone.
