Hi, does anyone know the procedure to change brake shoes on a Peugeot 2.0 ltr HDi Expert - Y 2001 ..?
I've never changed the rear shoes on any vehicle, only ever changed pads at the front which is easy enough for me

Also, any advice on where to get new shoes for my van would be great ! They seem expensive from some sources

I've only ever done rear shoes on a 106. But I'm pretty sure they'd be the same if not identical?

Undo hubnut, smack drum a bit with a hammer to dislodge it, pull it off. Undo the handbrake cable from the shoes, undo the spring at the bottom and you should be able to remove the whole shoe mechanism being careful not to dislodge the seals on the cylinder/pistons.

Then Just put together the new shoes and springs like the old ones are and reverse the procedure. Might have to swap a few bits over depending on whats included with the new shoes.

Hubnut was 32mm on the 106 not your average socket size so might need to buy one.

All iirc as it was a while ago but certainly didnt need any guidance and I'd never done it before. Just don't let the pistons fall out the cylinder as they will probably leak forever more if you do!

Excellent - thanks a bundle !

I shall pay particular attention on the ' smack drum ' a bit. I have " technical adjusters " that range from ¼LB to 14LB
:D

If its a 32mm socket, i'm in luck. I'm pretty sure i bought one of these years back when i had a GSXR 1100
