Changing sims

Hi all, I would like to change my number as I am getting a lot of spam calls but that number is still linked to my job and a lot of other stuff.

I want to be able to pick up my phone whenever and answer a call without issue but I still need my original number linked to my job before I fully change it over officially.

Is it possible to change my monthly contract number to a new number(which I know I can do) but still keep the old number that it originally was On a pay as you go for example.( not sure about this, any help).

Eg.
Current format:
My contract number 07606777777

Desired outcome
My new contract number 07606999999
Pay as you go number 07606777777

^ This. And just in case you're using an Android phone that doesn't use Google's Phone app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.dialer

It's been doing a good job filtering out spam calls, although a few still get through every now and then but you can report it.

Thanks for all the responses, is it still possible to do what I wrote in the original post? Can that be done. Also its not just spam calls its a phew other things too.Thanks

You can call your network to change the number, or transfer the number to another network, but I don't know if it's possible to transfer the number while keeping the old contract in place with a new number.
