I've tried in sound city and no replies, so wondered if anyone knows any software that can do the following.

Is there any software or soundcard, where you can easily change the setup of the speakers.
I have a tv connected to the pc, which is in a different place to the monitor, thus I could do with changing the FL to FR, RL to FL and so on.

ATM running on board sound with SoundMax software, doesn't appear to be any options to do that.

You can get matrix mixers for A/V aplications. AC3Filter and FFDshow audio have matrix mix options. They let you customise what signal goes to what speaker. These only work for A/V apps though, it's not system wide.

I don't think you can get a system wide matrix mixer. Your best bet is to find plugins for you individual applications.

I'm only wanting to change it for dvd and blu-ray play back, so what app would you recommend and which plugin?
would this work on any sound card?

That actually would be great as I could leave those settings for that one app. Wouldn't have to change anything.

Bumping a very old topic here...

I've got my speakers set up for my TV..... However, i want my directionality to still carry on for the PC gaming usage...
Was wondering if anyone had any updates on this? Or any new ideas?

Or was wondering if acidhell found anything useful for this?

Xonars can shift speaker positions using Dolby virtual speaker shifter, which is vastly superior to the (admittedly few) realtek drivers I've played with, but that's the closest I've seen to what you're after.

I'd imagine there must be a system wide program for this, as you can't be the first person to search for such a tool.
