Hey, here's my current spec!

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz
Memory: 8Gb OCZ Gold Ed.
Hard Drive: 3Tb Total w/ Raid boot etc.
Video Card: Sapphire ATi Radeon 5870 1Gb
Monitor: LG M227WD & LG 226WTQ
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Xtreme-Music
Operating System: Windows 7 64Bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte P35-DS4
Computer Case: Antec 900

I'm going to have around £1k to play with (though probably wont spend it all), and would like to do a decent upgrade! I think i'll keep the graphcis card, sound card & hdds, but will try & sell the mobo, cpu & ram (perhaps as a combo) and then look at either going for a phenom or an i7!
Now i've never done any sort've of watercooling before, but i'd definately like to go into it just because i have the money to do so now, but obviously have literally no idea where to start! It doesn't help things that i'm not sure which way to move on next mobo/cpu/ram combo, but i'm hoping some of you could give me some suggestions? I imagine going on an amd cpu would be more cost effective, plus if i wanted to go crossfire later on, i imagine more amd boards will be supporting it, as that seems to be the general way of things!

Thanks a lot, and hope you can help :)

Matt

p.s. i saw a thread which should be just below mine of a basic cooling setup of the cpu which was around £170 without coolant, which didn't seem to be too bad (but then what do i know :D)
p.s.s how much would you think i would get for the mobo/cpu/ram combo if i sold it? i could perhaps include the Noctua cooler, but dependant on if i go for air or water cooling! :)
