Hi guys,

Just a quick question. I have the Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000, do I need a fan controller like the Zalman Fan Mate 2 or can I control the speed through software? I'm kinda new at modifying fan speeds, and I thought I'd need one for the cpu fan which this will be. I have the antec 900 so controlling the others is in-built for me :)

Thanks in advance,

Yeggs

If you have it plugged into the motherboard then many motherboards have fan speed control options in the bios. If it is connected to the psu via a molex you could always 7v mod them. It's fairly easy to do and there's a good guide with piccys here. Otherwise use a fan controller or resister cable such as those that come with the Zalman case fans.

Thanks pasty. Looks like the board I was planning on getting (Asus Maximus Formula) allows you to set for Optimal, Silent or Performance modes, which should be enough for me :)

Sorry, should have noticed your siggy. Almost the same bios as my P5E so the options are the same for fans.
