I'm soon to be changing the dials in my prelude for the sexy EL ones, problem is, my current car is reading 170,000KM and the new dials are about 60,000 miles (stored in a chip that you cant edit)

Of course, come MOT time the mileage will take a plummet and look like ive clocked it - is there some kind of official way to prove i merely switched the dials over?

I'm just thinking of taking a set of pictures of old dials and new dials side by side and showing any potential buyers that i'm not lying.

so, a written statement complete with pictures should suffice?

(i.e showing old dials with 170,000km and new ones with 60,000 miles on)

nah, tis a honda prelude, the old ones are the oldskool mechanical rolling dials, new ones are the facelifted versions with the number stored permanently on the chip

there is no such option on the honda, its impossible to physically alter the value, or at least without great cost
