Yes im a pleb, ive never done it before :p

My car hs the standard orange backlighting on the speedo and rev counter, and i fancy something different and i think THIS looks pretty cool for what hopefully is a cheap change. No dials changing, just the blue backlighting.

Anyone know whether its a dash out job on a phase 3 306? or if its an easy change

Yes, i know, im a pleb ;)

Metal Monkey eh? :p

Should'nt be a dash to bits job, the instrument binacle should pop out - somehow!

Found the vids on the pug306 forums. Dont want the dials, i like the standard ones, but ive always loved blue dash lighting, but dont know how easy it is to change it.

I want to know this too! i bet it'd be a right pain in the arse!

It was relatively simple to take the instrument panel out on my Xsara, I had to after the rev counter went negative the week before it was getting sold :(. I needed to take the steering column shroud and the dash bits either side off, then just unscrew and unplug the panel.

The bulbs in the back could be easily swapped for different colour ones, and Haynes is usually a good guide for this kind of thing.

Probably not that hard, changed the bulbs on my astra from the standard orangey yellow to red along with the time display, just pop out the dials replace leds and pop back in check they work and away you go.

To change the cluster backlights on my Xantia (same firm as your pug more or less dont forget) involves removing the steering wheel.. which in turn means removing the airbag.

Needless to say i havent bothered replacing the bulb that blew in the lower half over 2 years ago...
