changing the size of pics

I know this is in the wrong place but i dont know where to post it so could someone move it to the correct place!!

I want to upload a pic onto something but it says that it needs to be under 30k

"Your photo must be 100 pixels by 100 pixels and be no larger than 30k."

the photo that i want to use is 44.9kb how can i (if you can) make it smaller?

if you open it in paint and then save it as .png it should be a lot smaller

Saving it as JPEG should make it small enough, if not GIF should work.

tried all of those but they have now gone to

PNG - 476KB
JPEG - 63.2KB
GIF - 59.9KB

Not sure if that means they have got bigger or smaller!! Im not very computer orientated!

If you have Photoshop then use the "Save for Internet" option under the file menu. That should get the filesize down.
