Hi,

I am a n00b at overclocking and with some help have overclocked my CPU and RAM....

I have an asus A8V delux mobo, AMD 64 3500 newcastle, 4 x 256 gig ram sticks, nvidia 4600ti

I have now been advised to increase the VCORE voltage by 0.025 so I went into the BIOS but could not change the VCORE voltage whatsoever. I only had two options a) the current temp b) ignore....

The only voltages I could change were a) DDRV b) AGPV and c) VLink.....

And they will increase 1v at a time...

What am I doing wrong? or what have I overlooked?

Please help...

Thanks

I found it....

I chose to "load default settings" in BIOS went back in set AI overclock to manual and hey presto there it was....

However when my pc starts up now it doesnt load the normal way....and says "bios not installed" what does that mean?

hmmmm

please help

thanks in advance...

When my system now boots up I get the mobo screen first then it goes through the normal boot procedure however 2 secs later I get this error msg...

"no drive attached to fast track controller.....bios not installed" erm help?

System shows I am using Amerciantrends bios version 02.54.....

Also I noted I am missing 2 device drivers :

a) eternet controller b) Raid controller

When I restart when windows comes to the "shutting down screen" it says "the door for volume A appears to be open , please close"

Erm I dont have a drive A though? Never got this before...

please help?

My system boots up fine...

So far I have overclocked to 2.4ghz and its stable well would u call running prime95 for 3 hours and passing all tests in that time stable?

Anyhow as mentioned before I have managed to sort out all other errors apart from these 2 which I would appreciate some help on:

1) After rebooting my system detects new hardware, its detecting a RAID controller....What is a raid controller? Is this when you have a RAID setup? I have 2 IDE drives only which are not Raid orientated......Anyhow what drivers do I need to stop the RAID controller from being detected? Does it have something to do with my VIA Chipset? hmmm please help?

2) I have already loaded defaults in Bios, which lead to the Asus Mobo screen appearing everytime I reboot....My normal Amitrends screen does not appear when I reboot, first its the Asus screen then for a spilt second the Amitrends screens loads up then I get a black screen with the following msg "Viatech industries, scanning for drives"......It does not detect any drives tho....hmmm again I would like to state I do not have a RAID setup....I thought I should update the BIOS but do not know how, please can someone help me do this?

Apart from the 2 above problems everything is hunky dory

thanks in advance...

:-)

I just sorted out the RAID issues :-) basically just installed chipset drivers and know I don't get the via tech screen when I reboot....neither do I get "found new hardware" pop up.....

Only problem I have now is when my system restarts each time the asus mobo screen appears as if I am using that as a bios instead of amercian trends what i was using before....

How do I get the amercian trends bios screen to appear each time I am restart? also does this mean my bios has changed?

please help
