Hi there.

Basically, when I open my recycle bin, it has somehow started to look like a music folder.
Ther are columns for album, artist, track number etc...
How can I get it back to just being a normal folder with files in ?

Ta !!

Tap the alt key, then select view -> choose details

or from the views menu select tiles?

edit/ hmm, in trying that mine now has column headers as well.. argh!

Hey Moonpie2 and sepulchre, if you open the "Recycle Bin" up and navigate to the "Organization" tab and then expand the "Layout" option and click on "Menu bar". Now, go to the "View" option in the menu bar at the top and go down to the "Choose Details….." option (3rd from the bottom) then you should be able to select the details you would like to be displayed for that particular folder which in this case being, the Recycle bin.

I hope that is what you mean. If it isn't, do you mind posting a picture please? :)

I think thats what I'd suggested tbh, thing is now I cant actually recall what my recycle bin folder looked like when open, does it actually have columns of details across the top, I thought it was just a blank folder?

Maybe I just need to go to bed :p

Hello sepulchre, I do apologize, that is exactly what you suggested. :(

This is what my Recycle Bin looks like without modifying any of the available options: :)

Maybe I just need to go to bed :p

I think it's me who needs to go to bed. :p

Ah thats fine then, thanks for the input chief :)

I just found out you can right click on the bar and change the details that way as well.

Slightly different question.... when I open a drive/folder, is it possible to `pin` the view mode of that particular location? I mean.... some folders/drives I want to open (and remember) showing a detailed view, some with an icon view.

Thanx FireWizard !!
(I still think you work for M$ ;))

Does it matter mate? The guy is a saint as far as I am concerned....loads of helpful advice on these forums from him. If he is an MS employee, then that to me seems a good commercial move for MS (or any other consumer IT company) to get people to be a good positive presence in heavily used and well known forums providing tips and support on their products.

Anyway...soz for the off topic.

...looking to go Vista very soon my self on at least one of my PCs so I am keeping an eye on all this stuff!

What's with the rant, Blackout ?

Did I diss him or say it was a bad thing ?
I'm with you. I welcome all his sage Vista advice

Sorry bud didn't mean it to come out as a rant (not my intention at all). :-)

Edit: Re-reading my initial post it did seem that way though!
