Channel A or B?

Sorry if this is a noob question:

I am building a new rig and want to know if I can put my 2 1g sticks in channel B rather than A. The reason I ask is that the fan on the ninja heatsink sits directly over the channel A slots. I could move the fan around but this would point the airflow away from the chassis fan pushing air out of the case.

Thanks

AB

If you want dual channel you'll have to put one stick in channel A and one in channel B.

If you don't want dual channel then yes you should be able to just use the B slots.

LOL @ the aptness of your name :p

What difference does dual channel make? The sticks are a dual channel kit.
A1 & B1 or can I do A2 & B1 or A2 & B2?

It should say in your motherboard manual.

Your name - AB.... channel a and b... maybe it's just me :o

I have a Ninja and the fan is directly over the first RAM slot, but there is still enough space behind the fan to fit the RAM in.

It just means I have to unclip the fan if I need access to the first RAM module, which is very rarely. It's XMS Pro as well, which is slightly taller than normal RAM (because of the activity LEDs), but I still have no problem.

I shall try and fit it over the ram then.

Is there much difference using the dual channel setup as opposed to single?
