I'm a bit miffed about this...

"As of Tue 1 Feb, 2011 Channel One will be closing, but you can still watch your favourite shows on Sky."

I don't have Sky so I guess I'm going to have to do without my daily Star Trek fix :(

Channel One used to be Virgin One and now it is not even available on Virgin!
I noticed that All Sky Channels last night were showing a half hour ''Advert'' for Sky Atlantic all at the same time

Virgin sold off all of it's channels to sky last year which included Living, Channel One, and Bravo. It has since shutdown Channel One and Bravo to make space for Sky Atlantic and sadly for freeview customers it hasn't replaced them with anything else.

Star Trek Voyager is now being shown on Sky Atlantic which unfortunately doesn't help you shoot1st, and even though I have sky I'm still going to miss those star trek marathons on lazy Sunday afternoons!

Sky bought the virgin owned channels on the proviso that they would remain available for all customers.
In shutting the cahnnels and opening entirely new ones, they side stepped the clause, and now virgin customers will find a long delay before virgin customers will be able to watch sky atlantic. In a similar fashion to the sky1 embargo a few years ago, it will likely eventually be overturned, but it'll take some time.

Bravo and virgin channels were the casulties with lots of bits moving to living and more moving to sky atlantic.
Atlantic will showcase all their new HBO content, but some virgin1 filler will make up the daytime fill.

It will be replaced by Challenge so lots more Takeshi's Castle and Crystal Maze. TNA Wrestling will also be broadcast on there.

I'm gutted too. It was always nice to record an episode of TNG every now and again.

However, to deaden the blow I did notice a new addition on my EPG. Sky 3 +1! Great... Another chance to watch a load of utter rubbish.

Murdoch and Co. can take a running jump... Admittedly I'm using Sky Broadband to sent this important message, but err... :o

If what you say about side-stepping the clause is true then it's a bit of a ***** trick for us viewers, to say the least.

Sky Sports News and now Channel One gone, two of the few channels I actually watch anything on, I just hope nothing similar happens to Dave and/or Film4...
