Another 'bad' example is this upcoming one:
In the good old days, this would be a selling point of the game itself. Now, it's chargeable and more likely to make me not bother with the game.
Meh, if the MW2 boycott proved anything, people are full of ****. Its quite a leap to believe half the people that said no were not just jumping on the bandwagon and would buy it anyway.
The main problem that makes DLC look bad is the devs who are using it as a tool to scam their customers. If people didn't buy it, it wouldn't be a problem, but idiots buy the stupid MW2 map packs for £12, I don't get that.
I did think the pc community would be a hard nut to crack for rip off DLC as its allot easier to pirate DLC on the pc and we have large modding communities.

That's the biggest problem with more DLC, IMHO - less incentive for developers to include modding tools.![]()

the new wrc game has a dl pack of group b cars coming out on release day hopefully free if not why not just put it in game.
no 400 points on xbox n 4.99 on playstation network.why ?
most likly they wern't finished, or didn't pass QC when the game went Gold.
games go Gold awhile before they are actually released, to give them time to manufacter and sort out distribution, etc, once they go gold, no changes can be made to the game that is released.
Piracy is one of the reasons why the DLC is expensive in the first place. With so many people playing the games for free, the developers try and get as much money as they can from the actual honest paying customers.
Then whoever made that rule is a ****ing idiot.
You think they can go from a working build to being in the shops overnight? It usually takes around 6 weeks from going gold to being in the shops!
