Charging Via Cigar Socket

Hi All

Hope this in the right place.

Can charging/using devices such as iPods and mobile phones via the cigar lighter socket damage the batteries in them?

nope, otherwise you wouldn't be able to get car chargers

Only if you don't use the one that came with the device.

Using the charger from a cell phone for instance to run an iPod will most likely have an adverse effect on the iPod due to different voltages and current handling capabilities of the plugs.
