Charlie Brookers Weekly Wipe

The year end ones are good. Weekly ones are not as good. Still funny though. Also quite left leaning so you have to take some of the critique with a pinch of salt.

Thought it was great. Loved the bit about the Pope and the "world's most popular milk round" :D

Also very surprised they were using Run The Jewels - 'Love Again' in the background. Great tune but dem lyrics  :p

I have huge appreciation for his brand of cynicism, intelligence and humour. Everything he seems to say or be involved in resonates, which is a saving grace for television. I dare say he might be the voice of a generation.

One of the other tunes in noticed was 'insert coin' from 'Music For A 1950s Video Game'

first thing I think of when ever I see his name mentioned, I was a subscriber for years that magazine was fantastic something the interent generation will never experience.

Charlie Brooker on the pages of PC Zone, with shaved head and psychotic expression. :D

I feel the same though not sure if it's family related and not just, same old shtick getting tired/running out of original jokes related.

Fact is while often good most of his comments aren't particularly original, just well delivered with a lot of fairly obvious jokes and the occasional brilliant one. His non commentary stuff, drama/comedy type shows, a writing credit amongst 7 other writers on a single ep of Brass Eye, though one of the single funniest episodes, besides that not much. A Touch of Cloth was abysmal, not seen Black Mirror actually but not heard good things about it either.

I like him but I think if he was a genuinely good writer he'd have had some successful comedy shows by this point. He's basically just doing the same thing over and over and has been for a long time now.

Of course, he's still probably the best thing on the BBC... but that is more of a scathing commentary on the BBC than anything else ;)

I enjoyed the blogger bit, the Russell Brand one this week I thought was quite funny, might just be me I guess?

I love Phillomena Cunk, particuarly her moments of wonder, she hits the nail on the head always because the very idea that human beings could possibly have the intellectual scope to answer the 'big questions' and have the audacity to appoint experts upon the various subjects is absolutely totally laughable given our variously limited epistemological and ontological dispositions.

I would fornicate with her often if given the slither of a chance.

He's never been the same since he married Konnie. He has lost a lot of the anger that he used to have, even having to resort to continuous 'yer mum' jokes.

No surprise really. I'd be in a fine mood if I was waking up beside her every day.

And bring back Doug Stanhope!
