chassis fan issue - NEED HELP!!!

Hi folks - could really use some help here.

For some reason tonight when I turn on the pc it gave some warning about the chassis fan speed (the rear one) - when I went into bios it was running around at around 550-600 rpm, and when I checked it out via the Asus Suite app it shows it's running at around 267rpm - that to me sounds bad...am I just being paranoid here? I've tried 2 fans on this connector, one of them being an Akasa Apache Black (600 to 1300 rpm) and get the same results.

I'm actually worried about this as I don't want to start playing something like BF3 if this low end fan speed is going to cause an issue. Someone did tell me I can either turn off the monitoring in bios (that doesn't sound like a good idea) or I can do something with the fan speed in there, and maybe turn down the rpm monitoring level (but don't know how to do that)...maybe set it another way?! Anyway, my system specs are:

Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V Pro
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.30Ghz
PSU: BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 1200W '80 Plus Silver'
16gb ram

I generally don't run the OC'd profile loaded on there and certainly don't want to try it right now with this issue. If someone can help - PLEASE do...this is driving me mad...

I doubt if the fan is running at 267 rpm. That would normally be below the stall speed of any fan. I've tried a few fans and they generally stall around 400-500 rpm.

If it consistently shows 260 rpm in Asus and 600 rpm in BIOS then I'd suggest that it's Asus Suite that is faulty, or perhaps BIOS keeps a higher PWM duty cycle than Asus suite.

If you can't fix this misreading by re-installing Asus Suite then I'd just turn off monitoring and set a fixed PWM duty cycle for the fan if you can.

When i used to have fans in the case i used to turn off monitoring in the bios as the fans were rated very low cfm. These days i dont use any case fans :D
Temps are always great!! Case has good airflow and never overheats
