If possible, try and squeeze a Tri Core in... long run it'll be a nicer upgrade.

You could have a go with the new X2 5200+ (no idea why they used the old naming scheme) from *competitor removed* - saves £12 and has a very good chance of unlocking to a Phenom X4 (seems to be about 70-80%) and most appear to overclock to 3 GHz or higher too.
