I'm looking at upgrading my TV so I'll get the best results from my Xbox but I'm confused and all the options. Can someone recommend a TV about £400 or £500?

The TV you're searching for doesn't exist at the price you want to pay. True 100/120Hz is a premium feature.

The cheapest TV is the Philips 55" PML9008 at £699.

For something 50" and below then you're looking at a smaller volume market, so the price is higher; Panasonic 42" MZ800B at £799.

If you have seen 100/120Hz mentioned in lower priced sets then you should check if they're talking about the motion processing rate. This is the speed at which the TV does its picture processing. It is common to find that this is 2X the screen's native refresh rate.

u7h hisense if can find one, i picked a 55 for under£500, 50 should be cheaper, cracking tv

Looking at both of them I think I'd be just fine on the cheaper one unless there was something major I am missing.

MX is LED and doesn't offer 120hz like you want. MZ is OLED and is a completely different animal.

If not fussed on the 120hz then just go for the TX-50MX600B at £330 with the discount as that's the show stopper for you.
