Maybe they don't exist....but what would be the cheapest 65”” you”d buy?

Just want to see if I get on with the size or if Inerd to rearrange the living room!
if I do I could look in to spending more on a higher end model in the future

Currently have an old 1080p Panasonic plasma, sitting 9ft away is too far for the screen size/my eyes sloI need to move the couch/bring in another chair to see the screen comfortably when gaming (reading text mainly).
With TV (SkyHD) there’s no need to read usually so not a problem

local dimming is horrific on them i don't think they are FALD. the bigger you go the more important FALD becomes and 65" is pretty big in terms of tv and edge lit.

I wouldn't touch one i'd rather spend the extra for FALD or OLED. people complain about the blooming on an XF90 when I personally think it's fine and only shows up in very specific circumstances. whereas on the Q6 it would be horrific. the temperature monitor shows you the heat spots where the LEDS and electronsics are located. the XF90 is pretty uniform. the Q6 has a clear hotspot around the bottom edge and 2 lines just off centre going vertically down the tv.

therefore you would be better off just buying the NU8000 over the Q6. they are the same tv practically apart from one is substantially cheaper. or was when i last looked. however NU8000 may now be out of stock due to it's popularity and being an EOL model.

I dont rate the Xf90 as an excellent TV myself, too few dimming zones and poor sluggish interface for me. Rtings puts the Xf90 at 8.3 vs 8.1 for the samsung for mixed usage, given the Sony is £500 more its not really great value. He asked for a TV that isnt terrible and the Q6 is far from terrible.

Rtings scores are garbage. Use their testing results but not scores. Eg the oleds top charts as monitors... LOL

@builder22 it depends on expectations. I'd say the base Sonys are quite good all around & cheap (eg xf70 etc). I'd avoid Samsung because they're overpriced and this year's models are mostly a step back in performance. I'd also avoid buying this year's models from anyone just yet because the prices are all inflated. If you are not in a rush wait for black Friday, prices normalize then
