Hi I have a couple of Shelly smart relays at the very edge of my WiFi coverage, so have an unmanaged switch in a cupboard above them so looking for a cheap wifi access point just to extend coverage for these, any help ?

Unifi access points.

Run a network cable to each one from your router.

You can use either a PoE switch or PoE injectors to give them power and data in one cat5e cable.

when you say cheap, how much do you want to pay. I use the Zyxel AP that support wifi 6 and cost about 75 pounds and then a POE switch at around 60 pounds.

If you just want 2.4GHz for IoT devices then look at TP-Link Omada units. They have perfectly serviceable WiFi N units for about £35. If you do want 5GHz then I would go with what @bledd has suggested and go with the Ubiquiti Unifi U6-lite which will be £90-£100 depending on where you buy it , and you’ll also need an 802.11.bt compatible PoE injector.

TPLink Omada, but if you want to go super cheap then a TPLink Archer C6 will do the job

If it's just IoT and you don't need anything fancy then something like a TP-Link TL-WA801N can be had for under £20. Old tech and slow but it'll do the job for IoT. Ran one myself once for years just to give coverage to my Amazon Echoes before moving to a broader and all encompassing Ubiquiti solution across the entire house.

I would at least get WiFi 5, since it's only £15 more. There's a huge difference between N and AC, but I guess if the purpose is only for the Shellys then fair enough.
