Hey guys,

Next week I'm going to be buying either the Belinea 22" or the V7. Atm I have a pretty weak system (Athlon XP 3200, 9600XT :o ) and an appalling screen which hurts my eyes because it's so blurry! :(

I want to get a cheap AGP card that will make use of my new screen a lot better than my current card, I'm going for a full upgrade in the summer so i just need a cheap card to last me until then.
I'm willing to go second hand, I've just got access the the MM so I'll have a look around there. What cards are recommended?

Cheers. :)

Edit - Forget to give a budget :o < £100

Depending on if you want to play games and how demanding they are (what settings etc) nearly every cheap card will struggle at that resolution.

If this doesn't bother you though then I'd say your best bet is a second hand 6800gt/x800xl/x850xt

Yea I woudn't be expecting to play at high settings, just wanted something that could get away with half decent performance.

Cheers guys :)

Sorry to slightly hijack this thread - I'm interested in that 7600GT linked above but was wondering about the power requirements of it.

My system has a power supply of 400w plus - not exactly sure without taking the thing to bits to see the labels. It has run an ATI 9700 in the past without trouble. Its currently got an Nvidia 6200 with passive cooling.

Does anyone with experience of these cards have an opinion as to whether I would run into power problems if I bought one?

Thanks

The 7600GTs aren't that power hungry so if you have a decent branded 400W PSU from the likes of Antec, Enermax, Seasonic, FSP, Akasa etc then you'll be fine

My other half recently bought one of these and I helped install. She has a standard PSU, nothing great (read: Competitor's bog standard) and it works fine.

The card itself is very good value, any game we've thrown at it so far, it has coem up trumps.

Just incase you wanted to save some moneys there's some mighty good deals on x850xt's on the bay. Some around £70 inc postage which is very good seeing as they're only the tiniest bit less powerful than the 7600gt (Infact they're a little better in some cases).

If you had the posts for MM you can get good deals in there: I got an X1950 pro for 77.50, cheaper than any 7600GT and it blows it away :)

EDIT: missed AGP :o
