Hi,

Can someone recommend me a budget Android phone for around £50 or thereabouts. I want to use it for Sat Nav as Android seems to have some decent free offline sat nav (I think) and to use the Torque OBD software. My main phone is a Win7 one, so I don't need anything too fancy, but don't know an awful lot about budget Android phones.

Cheers y'all

Brand new you're limiting yourself a lot with £50.

The best of a relatively bad bunch would be something like the Samsung Galaxy Mini (£59.99 when purchased with a £15 top-up from Orange).

If you are buying used then obviously you have far more choice.

How cheap you prepared to go? You could do a second hand Orange San Fran for example but the maps experience would be pretty slow. Hell a SF2 is apparently available on ebay from £65, this might be a better deal (screen's a lot bigger) for a small bit extra.

Hmmm, I don't mind second hand if the phone is worth it. I can probably stretch above £50 but dont want to spend too much.

Don't want to buy a dedicated sat nav as its just another thing to carry, I was hoping to get a phone as then I will just have one item to carry and can take it in and out of the car more easily for what I intend to do, plus I want to use the Torque app.

In a Laguna, the OBDII socket is under the ashtray in the centre console and basically, any bluetooth OBDII will do the job as it is simply a reader to send the codes and values to the Torque app, which will do lots of interesting things with this info :)
