Cheap APG card

I have been looking on Bay for a second hand 9800Pro to replace my 9550.

I dont want to spend much more then £35. Should I be looking at any different cards other then the 9800Pro for that price. I klnow its cheap but thats what thay going for.

I would go up to £40-£45 if it was 256mb.

Any anyone provide any others, or should I stick with the 9800Pro

Makes no difference if Nvidia or ATI.

I'd look for a 2nd hand 6600GT for about £50.

Out of the two acrds witch one clocks the best and are you able to mod any of them to open other features?

9800 is old tech and the 6000 is new tech, not sure if 6600GT can unlock pipes or such and it has dx9c and p.s 3.0 functions.

6600GT beats the pro but not by a huge amount. I wouldnt get hung up on the amount of ram mate you can but a lot cards with 128mb of ram that will whoop a 512MB cards ass eg. 6600GT 128Mb vs X1300 512MB. Its all a gimmick unless you have a really high end card

What sort of clocking performance can be expected out of the 6600GT as my old TI4200 only went up by 10%

Above is in the B grade section, now thats a mistake as price is unchanged, call up and ask them whats the price for that item number.

Loopy older cards like GF2 and GF3 and GF4 you got 10-15% overclock without mods, things have changed now.

for that price you can get a 6800nu. and thats a lot faster. also possibility of unlocking pipes.

Hmm what price, please look at mistake in B grade post, the before and after price is same, now somethings wrong there, give shop a call nothing to lose everything to gain.

As above, go for a 6600GT over the 9800Pro but both are good cards

The 6600 isn't that great at all

Well the Nvidia 6600gt 128mb AGP. Second hand was accepted at £60 including P&P sorry to be a pain in the ass but £60 is a lot of money to spend at min and just wanted to make sure its worth the £££££.

Or should I get somthing else for same money. £60 is MAX or will be dis-owned by G/Friend and 6 month old baby

For £60 you can't do any better than the 6600GT - it's still a great card

Well guys took the chance and got myself a second hand 6600GT 128mb.

Paid £60 including P&P from Bay (hope its a good one).

No spacific make as I know of. Its the one with the green fan on it and has Nvidia on the top left hand corner.
