Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a cheap dvd recorder to me?

My parents video finally died and its time to go forward in time, it isn't a birthday or anything and they really wouldn't use any of the fancy features I would so just need something cheap but reliable.

I get the impression the cheap ones aren't very good so is there anything about?

Thanks,

Depends on whether you want one with a hard drive or not.

Without a hard drive, the LiteOns start at ~ £70.00.

I would recommend a hard drive recorder (mine is a Panasonic E-100), but that would be over £100, depending on size of hard drive etc.

I have always been a fan of Panasonic Recorders. A doddle to use and they just work.

Around £100 will get you a Panasonic recorder (without hdd).

You're looking for more with a HDD but personally the RAM discs give you all the functions of a HDD.

I would recommend getting a recorded with Freeview tuner integrated in too.

Pioneer do a model with HDD and Freeview but I think it's around £300.
