Cheap as chips pre-built for old games?

Hey.... basically have no knowledge of building a Pc and my dad wants a pre built system for buttons lol..... His games library consists of need for speed games like underground 2 and the older most wanted along with half life 2, FEAR game types and was looking at buying a desktop Pc but open to laptop suggestions that would run these games at max settings?? Any suggestions guys... Cheers
 
Can't recommend pre built from anywhere except OcUK on here.

The 'Black Ops cyber warfare' (lol at the name :D) is on offer this week for £442. That should do the job for the games you mention.
 
I'd just get some chips if I'm honest, doubt you're gonna find a pre-built that cheap :p

Don't forget the salt & vinegar

Ah cheers for the input mate :) he's undecided whether to go the desktop route or laptop so hopefully have a few options to consider from peeps here.... He doesn't play many new titles n just stuck to these games plus os will prob be a copy of XP home
 
AMD A10 laptop will be fine, the integrated GPU will be fine for older games just don't go for a high resolution display, 1366 x 768 will be fine.
 
Would pref be played at 1920x1080 res for gaming as he has a 24" monitor so cud hook up a laptop or a tower..?
 
Yeah starting to look that way but not my money so just looking for best at lowest price for his needs :) al maybe throw in a pickle if the best deal pops up haha

Or this perhaps but yes Trinity will get you what you need for the cheapest cost.

A more expensive Intel route which will probably be more powerful than Trinity might be something like this:

Call up OcUK and ask them to put a dedicated GPU in there if you don't want to build yourself but it is pretty easy :)

The board does support 2133 RAM, you just need to enter 2133mhz into the BIOS and your done.

Also wouldn't buy a GDDR3 GPU :p

Just seen this on another website for £240.... Would this run the stated games at max settings?

Chances are 500W branded PSU means its a load of junk. The FX 4100 is one of the worst CPU's made within the last few years and god knows what that graphics is, chances are its onboard.
