cheap base unit any good??

I'm looking for a cheap system for my nephew , this seems a cheap base system * Pricing not of OcUK * to add a graphics card to. What are peoples thoughts or can better be done for the price.

He is looking to use it for general uni duty and play games on.

yes amd is cheaper, runs a bit hotter but for the price is good value, dont think your going to get much better value for your money unless you build it yourself

Agreed,

The A10's do have great on-board graphics to play games at low to medium settings. If that is what you are after a build could be done very cheaply. Does that sound good?

Otherwise you really need (at a minimum) G840 & 7770 or 3220 & 7850 (pick and mix).

On a tight budget the OS price is going to kill what you could potentially buy. I'd recommend seeing if you can use a product key from his old laptop/computer possibly.

Or if he already has a hdd with all his stuff on and windows, just plug that in :)

If you have the disk, you can always install the OS on the new PC and when you activate, advise you've upgraded the HDD. They're none the wiser.
