Cheap build

Have you considered building a computer from scratch and do you have a monitor, keyboard, mouse?

if you have a monitor can you post the resolutionn?

what is this pc going to be used for?

Can you get HDMI outputs? If so that would save me having to spend money on a monitor.

Used mainly for internet browsing/MSN and playing Half Life 2 and Enemy Territory :)

it's £20 over, you should get free postage due to your post count, and everything hardwarewise for the tower is included

get win 7 RC as your OS for a year

should be more than a match for HL2 and the graphics card should come with a dvi to hdmi adaptor

Might be able to knock the hard drive off actually, so that makes it a bit cheaper. but thanks, gives me somewhere to start :)
using a HDTV for a screen? yeah most new graphics cards have HDMI/adaptor so youre ok there :)

nice little spec above :) looks ok to me
Yeah, if i can. Saves me buying an extra screen. And i'd never be on the computer and watching TV at the same time so thats no problem :)

I wasn't sure if you had thinks like hard drives or old computer cases lying around, dependant on how old the hard drive you have is it may be worth spending on a new one, I had and old 250gb pata drive from maxator 45mb/s read write and upgraded to a wd640 sata with 100mb/s r/w made the computer so much faster

It's fine, I didn't say. It's my mates old one so i'll have to see how old it is and size of it etc. If it slow then i'd just have to get a new one. 500gig ish should be fine :)

There have been some decent pc's on the members market recently so keep an eye out there or stick a post in the wanted section, they may be second hand but with a lot of people on the OCUK forums being enthuisiasts you can get a well built machine - cheap.
