I recently upgraded my CPU, using an AM2+ Motherboard, but since the announcement that Bulldozer will support AM3, I have decided to upgrade my motherboard and RAM too.

So I need a fairly cheap upgrade. My CPU is Phenom II X4 955 and I don't really plan on overclocking it. Also I will need to upgrade my RAM to ddr3 and want 8GB as I do a lot of video editing as well as gaming.

Budget is £150. Only need mobo and ram.

Cheers Stu, that's great. I'll order in the morning as I can't get next day now anyway.

@Reaper: Nah, I don't need anything special. I have a couple of crappy sata 1TB hard drives and no optical drives. I rarely use my computer for anything more than playing WoW and a little video editing.

in that case i wont change my recommendation to a higher end motherboard, unless stulid can give a good reason of course

I'll stick with the M5A88-V. It'll give me more options for upgrades in the future without the need to replace the motherboard again.
