Hi guys, currently looking at a cheapish bundle as I have a bit of spare cash, got my eye on this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-080-OE
Bundle Specification
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.00GHz Sandybridge CPU
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68
- RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
- Cooler: Corsair A50 CPU Cooler

At £317.98 inc VAT its right in my budget, may add another 4gb RAM, just want opinions on whether this will last "gaming wise" for at least two years? (i have a Sapphire HD7850 already)
Dont want to find new games next year struggling with 30fps, not that I think they will but I need some reassurance! If anything is worth changing then please say so and I'll have a look, just noticed this bundle in the Offers.

if anyone can help that would be great, thanks.

EDIT: hah just noticed it does'nt come with a case! anyone recommend a decent one for under £50? really dont want to go above £350 total if I can help it (so will for go the extra RAM for now)

You are not going to be struggling for performance in the foreseeable future with that bundle. Except you will want to add extra RAM, and maybe overclock the processor some more.

However if you want to add more RAM then you will need to reapply the overclock yourself. Coupled with that if you chose to self build you can get 8GBs of RAM, a 3570K and a Z77 board for £5 more.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £184.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £81.98
1 x GeIL EVO Leggera 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GEL38GB1600C9DC) £31.19
1 x Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £25.99
Total : £335.56 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Case wise one of these would be perfect.

Firstly many thanks for the help!

I'm capable of overclocking myself (currently doing so E8400) so see the 3570 as an advantage over the 3500 already (thanks for the heads up) and the 4gig of RAM in the bundle was a stalling point also, plus I already have an Akasa Cooler than can be switched over so dont require another one.

Just one question, is that RAM good? never heard of them before and pretty much always used Kingston.

EDIT: got a 500w OCZ PSU that'll do for now can always get a bigger one further down the line.

GeIL RAM is reputed to be good stuff, although I have never used it my self.

If your cooler has mounting holes for socket 1155 then you can use it (What model is it?), you may have to buy some new thermal paste though.

Ok cool thanks, did a quick google and not much came back which is usually a good sign!
Its the Nero3, says 1155 on the box so I'm safe with that.

Many thanks for your help its greatly appreciated, I'll be ordering those bits and pieces now :)

gah its the little things you forget, wish they would put height dimensions on RAM then hehe!Already sent the request in to change the RAM anyway so I'll leave it for now and hope theres no problem!
