Hi guys,

Any recommendations on a cheap but cheerful replacement for my failing Galaxy Spica? Would love to get an S2 but sadly can't afford one. Looking to spend somewhere in the region of £150.

What's the word on the HTC Explorer, decent or avoid?

Also, this is going to be a pre-pay phone, I don't go through enough credit in a month to make bill pay worth while.

Personally I'd say the Galaxy Ace over that, but it's going to be close to call

I was looking at the Ace but it costs approximately £200 over here which is quite a bit over budget and I can get the Explorer for £110.

Would a HTC Wildfire be worth it for roughly £30 more?

Was looking at that, the only thing which would put me off is that fact that it's an Ericson, any of their phones I've ever seen have had shockingly bad build quality.

I picked up a SGS, in mint condition, for €150 a few months back. A well kept SGS/Nexus S(especially as it has ICS) would be much better than anything you can get new for £150.

Orange Monte Carlo usually goes on offer every month or two for below or around £100 i think it's current price is around £125. I got one for £90 (brand new) a month or two ago.

It's basically a San Francisco with better CPU, Bigger Screen and Better Camera.

It also can be unlocked for free and is fully supported by CM7 and people are working on CM9 with a partially working ROM.

This is what I did and I've been well happy with it on 3 PAYG.
