So I'm looking to get one of the new X3D chips (waiting on 9950X3D reviews to decide which) and thought I'd rebuild an older system with my 7700 (non-X).
Struggling to decide on RAM (I see the Crucial Pro stuff is in Black Friday deals) but that's for another thread.
For the motherboard I thought I'd try to get a Black Friday bargain (maybe not on OcUK sadly). After looking what b650 options are still available and consulting the HUB video for recommendations I think I've narrowed to these:

Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2
The most expensive but does that mean it's the best? Seems to have reasonable VRM stuff. Only PCIe 4.0 for GPU but has 5.0 for M2 (would've preferred the other way around I think but...) and doesn't lose any lanes by using certain M2 slots or anything.

Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2
Cheaper than the other Gigabyte board and has worse VRM stuff, but it's probably still fine, other bit seem similar. Doesn't lose any lanes by using certain M2 slots or anything.

MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI
Slightly more expensive than the 2nd Gigabyte and is only mATX but might be handy in the future as opens up more case possibilities? VRM stuff seems worse but I think HUB said it'd still be OK. No Gen 5 PCIe stuff anywhere, but not a massive issue. One less M2 slot, being mATX I guess. Again no lanes lost by using certain PCIe slots or M2 slots from what I can tell.

ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2
Not a Black Friday deal but still the cheapest here. VRM stuff seems the worst of the lot, but again I think HUB said it was fine and it was their recommendation for budget mATX. Even has a Gen5 M2 slot, but I won't need that. Again no lanes lost by using certain PCIe slots or M2 slots from what I can tell. Not many USB ports on the back and the board does look a bit sparse and light on heatsinks, but does that matter?

Just wonder what people's opinions were, especially if you've owned any of them. My head tells me you get what you pay for so go for the most expensive but especially with motherboard it seems that's not always the case.
Not had a Gigabyte or MSI motherboard in a while so interested to see if they've improved since I last tried them (it was mostly the BIOSes I disliked).
Is there something else in this price range I should get instead?

Yeah, that's what the video seemed to suggest. The ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 is tempting but perhaps just a little too budget for what I want, not sure. Still undecided on the mATX thing.

But I'm most trying to decide between the Gigabyte boards. £20 for a few USB ports on the back and bit more on the VRMs, but the HUB video seemed to suggest they'd both be fine for all current Ryzen CPUs. Also the Gigabyte boards were really good for VRM temps.
