Hi,

I'm building a PC for a mate and need a cheap PCI-e card. The main uses of his computer will be watching movies (possibly HD), some light photoshop work, and maybe a bit of Football Manager.

He'll be running a 22" monitor at a res of 1680 x 1050 and running Vista Ultimate. I'm needing to spend as little as possible as he's on a very tight budget.

Will the ATi 3450 be up to the job? I've seen the 3650 for around a tenner more, how much better is it? It needs to be completely silent as there's a chance he could leave it on overnight and it's in his room.

Any advice appreciated.

I thought someone might say that. Second hand isn't really an option I'm afraid and I have a feeling that an 8800 is seriously overkill for his needs. I can't ever remember him playing a graphics intensive game. Thanks for the suggestion anyway :)
