Cheap card

I'm looking for a nice cheap, but decent card. I'm not too bothered if it's ATI or NVIDIA, whichever will get me the best price/performance.

Best I've found so far is the ATI 4650 for £42. Fairly cheap and judging from the clock/cores etc. it's fairly decent.

One of the cheapest I've found is the ATI 3450 at £21, but is it any good. The PC it's going in won't be playing games, but if I ever did need to use it I'd like it to at least play some games.

It's quite possible the PC will eventually get my current GTX 260 if/when I upgrade it, so I might be best off with the cheapest card possible.

Any suggestions?

Maybe a second hand 8800? should be able to get one posted for £25-30ish

Possibly, although I'd rather buy new for warranty & to ensure it arrives with the other hardware I'm ordering.

I'll have a look at some second hand cards on the MM though

i know its not very cheap but its under £100, 9800gt
very good card, even today's standards it can handle crysis on full, at a lower res, but it can rape most games

4850 is a very capable card @ up to 1680x1050, and prices have come down of late.....

before the GTX260 I had a 9600GS with aftermarket cooler. Played everything except Crysis close to Max (without AA), but it did struggle when I went up to 1680x1050. Reading all the reviews and the advice of people here that know a lot more than me I guess it was because I had the lower memory version 9600.

Unfortunately the 4850 goes way over my price budget, 4650 prices are about the maximum I want to spend as it's only for a second PC which I'll probably never game on.

4670 are cracking cards and if you look around you can get them for sub £50. Also have HDMI output on some so ideal for plugging into LCTV if the need ever arises

That's a pretty decent price for that card - ~£55 new. Judging by the clock speeds it's a fair bit better than the 4650.

I'm still undecided really, I might just go for the £20 3450 considering it might be replaced with a GTX260 eventually when I upgrade my main PCs card.
